OHGW Individual swap

This pretty yellow fabric with red, orange and white flowers comes from the Petty family, IL. Thank you the fabric is gorgeous and I cant wait to start piecing the main quilt.

I am trying to be very good and post the squares and wishes soon after they arrive! But now I probably wont be able to post anymore until after the weekend due to teen baby sitting duties. Unless I can persuade my niece to take pictures and post! She live on the computer anyway so it wont be too difficult a task! She might even jazz my blog sites as she is a bit of a computer whizz!

Red thread swap

This is one of the squares from the Red thread swap which I took part in last year. The fabric is red with gold printed ladybirds, the wish is so beautifully made and creative. The fabric and square comes from the Zucco family. Thanks Honor.

RQ swap

This was the second square and wish that arrived this morning and is part of the rumour queen swap. The quilt square is of a green background which has lots of different animals such as Zebra, monkey, elephant etc. The fabric comes from the Edmonds family, from South Carolina.

I will try to keep my squish postings more up to date, rather than doing a massive posting at the weekends. Its amazing how quickly they mount up. I will miss getting them in the post, as apart from a few individual swaps I have now stopped exchanging and am just waiting for more squares to arrive from the RQ and Pink swap.

This pretty purple fabric with different coloured butterflys comes from the OHGW group individual swap and was sent from the Mann family, IN

OHGW Individual Swaps

These three fabric came from the OHGW yahoo group individual swaps.

The purple fabric with the love bugs comes from the Logan-Brown family, Michigan.

The other two fabric come from two European quilters! The white fabric with bright patterns comes from Laurence and Georges Willem, and cream fabric with leaves and berry's comes from Nancy and Damien Delire, both couples are from Belgium. Merci

Now the worst of the building work is finished, I will get my book submitted in the next couple of weeks, decorate the new bedroom, bathroom and hallway and then I will be free to start sewing the main OHGW quilt. I have the sashing and wadding, so its just a case of working out which squares are going where, cutting them all to the same size, cutting the sashing and lots of sewing! I am still debating if I should do what a lot of people do and send it to someone to actually quilt it for me once the front is pieced and the border is added and the backing is cut and ready?? Decision, decisions! I guess it will partly depend on when we get baby Wong and how much time I have! And if my adoption leave monies will stretch to it!

I also took part in two more individual swaps this week which I mailed out yesterday, after I had done a lot of cleaning and had the dust relatively under control!

In the pink swap

These two are from the in the pink swap I hosted. I am so glad I did this as I have received some beautiful pink fabrics. I still have 5 more to arrive but as they don't need to be posted until the 31st January they should arrive in time before I select the final fabrics that I am going to use.

The pretty pink fabric with dark pink ferns co0es from the Speckman family, MI. The lovely pink floral print comes from the Gropp family, Ontario, Canada.

I still have 6 photographs of squares and wishes from the very large rumour queen swap which I will post later this week.

And I still have four squares to arrive from the red and Christmas swap, but I think that I can assume that these will not arrive now! I am sure some do get lost in the trans Atlantic post, but it is a shame when I make so much effort to get mine made and posted that some people don't send theirs out. I think the individual swaps are worse for this than the large group swaps:)

Individual swaps

I caught up with taking pictures of some of the squares and wishes that have recently arrived. I also made the three squares and wishes that were requested for more individual swaps. Now the wadding and material for the sashing has arrived I need to start on the main quilt. I think in another two weeks when the builders have finished will be the ideal time!

These two are from individual swaps. The maroon colour with the unusual ginger bread figures is from Carrie in Ohio USA. The pretty yellow fabric with butterfly's and ladybirds comes from Nazarath Parras in the Canary Islands. My first Spanish swap!

Rumour Queen and in the Pink Swap

These squares and wishes have arrived in the later half of this week from the large RQ swap and in the pink swap that I hosted.

Linda Henriksen from Denmark sent two squares and wishes as like me she participated in both swaps. The green fabric is for the RQ swap and has differnt cows and flowers on the print and the pink fabric for in the pink swap has butterfly's and flowers.

The Mann family from IN, USA sent the pretty pink fabric as part of the pink swap with lots of pastel colour butterfly's

Lydie Bouffard from Canada sent a cream Christmas fabric with snow flakes and polar teddy bears

Karnin Noosma-van Dart from Holland sent the dark fabric with different colour squares which contain hearts, moons, fruit and flowers

Some of the pictures are a little blured but you can still see the fabrics. The camera lens had something on it which I have now carefully cleaned off! Its only after posting the pictures that I noticed this.

In the Pink and Individual swap

These two fabric came from Jodi williams, one if for the pink swap and one is an individual swap. One fabric is a bright pink with white polka dots and the other is a lovely flowered material. Both of these will go into the OHGW quilt. I have ordered the sashing and wadding, and roughly know the quilt design. I just need to sit down one evening and work out measurements. I also need to decide on the outside border and back which will be matching fabric. I will probably finish the front first before deciding, and we also might know what gender baby Wong is. Lots of future sewing ahead!

Christmas Swap

The fabric and wish comes from the Strange family, PA. Sue emailed me to say the envelope had been returned to her, hence the delay.
